Permanent hair removal

Who does not know it, the annoying stubble, which can be felt again on the legs after day 1? Permanent hair removal is a very modern way to get hair-free and velvety skin. First of all, I would like to say that this is a cure and not a one-off treatment. The result is then permanent.

Already after the first treatment you will see visible differences!

During the entire therapy, the new hair grows back finer and more slowly and from appointment to appointment it becomes less. From the very first treatment, there is no need to shave every day! Delicate, soft skin appears after just a few treatments, it's definitely worth it!

Beauticians without a certificate of competence are not allowed to work with medical lasers. The Medical CE certificate is a CE with a 4-digit number. Only doctors and medical beauticians with a certificate of expertise may use such devices. My laser has a CE 0... and ISO 13485. You are welcome to look at the certificate on site to be sure that it is a tested and medical device.

My diode laser 808 is a high power laser and has built in very high quality laser bars from the USA to get durable and good results.

How many treatments are needed?

On average, approx. 6 - 12 treatments are expected. After the treatment, the hair stops growing and falls out in the following weeks. Then less hair grows back, in this phase you should plan the next treatment at intervals of approx. 4-7 (6) weeks. Depending on the body region, 10%-30% of the hair is in the growth phase,  in which  it can be successfully treated.

If you don't want to remove the hair completely but just reduce the amount, then 1-3 treatments are often enough.

  • Armpits 3-6 reps/ every 4-6 weeks

  • Pubic area 5-8 repetitions/ every 4-6 weeks

  • Legs 6-12 reps/ every 4-7 weeks

The numbers vary from body to body. The darker the hair and the lighter the skin, the better the results. If you anticipate 1-1.5 years coming for treatment every 1.5 months, it's a realistic schedule.

Does the treatment hurt?

I first do a trial shot  in an insensitive spot to find the right settings. You feel a prick and warmth. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and slight reddening may occur afterwards. Damage to the skin, such as skin aging, skin cancer, etc., such as after excessive sunbathing, is not possible because the impulse does not contain any UV light. As the hairs in the follicle are destroyed, a prick is felt, not pain from heat. The laser head is cooled very strongly, so you don't feel the skin warming up too much. My laser is the latest generation on the market and can therefore be said to be painless, but every pain sensation is different. There are always suppliers who only promise light warmth. Even with the current state of technology, this is not possible. If this is the case, the hair root is not destroyed and the hair just falls into a longer dormant state. You will be hairless, but not in the long term. One hears again and again of cases that still have hair after 15 treatments. (No downy hair) This happens when the pinching is not felt and the hair wakes up again after a few months. Decide for yourself if you'd rather be pinch and hair free or just warmth and short term hair free. I can offer you both variants.

(This knowledge is known to everyone who has completed the expertise in laser technology according to V-NISSG! Always ask such providers for the certificate of expertise in accordance with V-NISSG radiation and sound, which will be mandatory from spring 2024 and will guarantee you safe use)

What do I have to consider before the treatment?

  • The hair will be shaved smooth 1 day before the appointment (come to the appointment as smooth as possible)

  • Do not go to the solarium or sunbathe 72 hours before the treatment

  • Freshly tanned skin must not be lasered

  • Active melanocytes cause pigment shifts

What do I have to consider up to 48 hours after the treatment?

  • not warm showers

  • No sports or sauna

  • Not in the sun 72h. (no direct sun on the treated area, then 50 protection)

  • Apply sunscreen regularly for at least 10 days   (high protection factor)

  • The lasered skin areas are irritated, no cosmetics or creams may be applied

  • Don't wear deodorant

  • Do not eat spicy foods as the skin is stimulated

  • Do not use drying masks

  • Only moisten the skin with PH neutral cream or aloe vera

  • In general: do not cause skin irritation by rubbing or agents

  • Treat the skin like a sunburn.

  • Skin may feel dry or itchy in the coming weeks, moisturize well

Contraindications that speak against treatment:

  • spider veins and varicose veins

  • Roacutane, Isopretinol, Retinol (and similar) for acne

  • cortisone

  • Hormonal treatments (strong birth control pills) can negatively affect the results

  • Strong drugs that say skin needs to be protected from the sun

  • Antidepressants (not all brands, check with doctor)

  • Do not take any hair growth-promoting drugs or dietary supplements during therapy, it is counterproductive

  • If you are unsure, ask your doctor and bring me a confirmation from the doctor that laser treatment is possible despite medication. I am not allowed to treat you without a doctor's confirmation.

Laser treatment:

You come to the appointment shaved and hair-free. You do not use deodorant on the day of treatment. It must not be epilated or waxed 4-6 weeks before the appointment. You get laser safety goggles, all birthmarks are covered, tattoos are covered. After that, the treatment can begin.

Who is unsuitable/ suitable for the diode laser?

Dark hair with light skin is the perfect client for diode laser treatment.  The greater the difference between the skin tone and the hair, the better the results.

White-blonde, grey, white hair is difficult to laser with the diode laser, as the laser beam looks for dark melanin in the hair root. Red hair is sometimes found well, sometimes not so, that must be tested.

The terminal hair can be treated very well, the vellus hair becomes difficult to remove towards the end.

The vellus hair is a marrowless downy hair about 0.04 mm thick and about 1 cm maximum length. This hair occurs more frequently on certain parts of the body. Because it is pigment-free, it cannot be removed.

If you have a lot of birthmarks, liver spots and freckles on the area to be treated, I advise you to consult your doctor before starting the treatment. Irradiation of the above skin conditions combined with laser light beams can promote skin cancer. In the case of individual stains, these can be masked off or protected with a white marking pen.

Lasers in summer can cause pigment disorders!

It is possible to have lasers in the summer, but with a high degree of personal responsibility. I also offer legs, armpits and genitals in summer. Sun protection must be worn, long pants and a sleeved t-shirt. The skin should not get any sun for the first few days. After that, sunscreen can be applied. (Factor 50, not 30!)

The melanocytes must not be active in combination with sun and laser! MCS assumes no responsibility!

If you like to sunbathe and go to the pool in summer, you should laser from October to May. For Shadowhunters it is possible.
